With a population of around 46,000 (as of 2010), it’s renowned as an upscale residential area. Additionally, it’s known as an academic hub, housing institutions like the University of California, San Diego (UCSD), the Salk Institute, Scripps Institution of Oceanography (a part of UCSD), and Scripps Research Institute.

キャンパスの公共駐車場は週末と休日に、有料駐車場 P002 と P003 をご利用いただけます。駐車許可証はロット P003 の支払いステーションから購入できます。近くの通りにある追加の公共駐車場も利用できます。月曜日から金曜日まではキャンパス内に公共駐車場はありません。
Parking:
On weekends and holidays, public parking is available at paid lots P002 and P003. Parking permits can be purchased from the payment station at lot P003. Additional public parking is also available on nearby streets. There are no public parking options within the campus from Monday to Friday.

マッシュルーム・ビーチ・ハウス / Mushroom Beach House

ザ・ケイブ・ストア / The Cave Store

La Jolla Cove and its surroundings feature seven different caves, but the only accessible one by foot is Sunny Jim’s Sea Cave. Access is granted by descending 144 steps that lead down into the cave from inside the shop. Its usage dates back to the Prohibition era in the 1920s, where it was utilized by smugglers and bootleggers. Entry into this cave is ticketed, and tickets to enter the cave’s interior can be purchased at The Cave Store. Once you descend the stairs, you can enjoy a magnificent view from inside the cave.

La Jolla Tide Pools are part of a natural reserve, and visitors are required to adhere to the following guidelines to protect the ecosystem:
- Do not touch: Refrain from touching marine life to protect their habitat.
- Do not take: Taking marine life or seashells is prohibited.
- Exercise caution: Be mindful of slippery rocks and ensure safety while exploring the pools near the sea.”
