The population of Cleveland in 2020 was 372,624, making it the largest city on the shores of Lake Erie, the second-largest city in Ohio after Columbus, and the 54th most populous city in the United States.

Growing into a major commercial and industrial hub by the late 19th century, Cleveland attracted numerous immigrants and migrants. Once ranked among the top 10 cities in the United States by population, particularly during a period of cultural development in the city’s institutions in much of the 20th century, Cleveland saw a slowdown in its economic growth from the 1960s onwards due to the decline of manufacturing and suburbanization. With the decline of the industrial sector, the city transitioned to a diverse economy, focusing on service industries such as finance, insurance, healthcare, and the arts.

ロックンロールの殿堂 / Rock & Roll Hall of Fame
